Editorial Standards
RetireDividend publishes educational content about retirement investing and retirement planning. Accuracy and transparency matter more than hype.
Explain before persuading
Educational content should answer the reader’s question first. Product references should appear only when a RetireDividend tool genuinely helps with the next step.
Separate distributions from total return
Dividend yield, distribution rate, option premium, and portfolio income are not interchangeable with total investment return. Where relevant, we discuss both income and changes in investment value.
Avoid guarantees
We do not describe dividends, option premiums, distributions, market returns, or retirement-income outcomes as guaranteed when they are not.
Show assumptions
Calculators, examples, and projections should disclose the assumptions that materially affect their output.
Prefer primary sources
For important factual claims, we prefer sources such as the IRS, Social Security Administration, CMS, SEC, FINRA, Department of Labor, official fund issuers, prospectuses, and other primary documentation when practical.
Review time-sensitive facts
Tax thresholds, contribution limits, Social Security rules, Medicare premiums, RMD rules, and fund data can change. Date-sensitive content should be reviewed and dated when appropriate.
No fake proof
RetireDividend does not use fabricated testimonials, fake ratings, invented user counts, or made-up performance results.
Corrections
Material errors should be corrected when discovered. If a correction changes the conclusion of an article, the page should be updated accordingly.
